FROM FICTION TO COLLECTION
PSUKHE is an extract of the imaginary of PSUKHETELE, a concept art book and science fiction novel which Felix Godard started in 2008.
From the fiction of an advanced society in the year 2300, to a high-end collection of design pieces materialized back into the present time and into a tangible form, the link between PSUKHE & PSUKHETELE constitutes the narrative of the Collection.

BLUE EPISTEME
Inspired by the Greek idea of knowledge, Blue Episteme blends soft ash blue with subtle greys and a hint of cyan. The thick, felted wool trim has a dense, tactile quality that enhances its richness, while the muted tone exudes a quiet, calming presence.
The structural elements are finished with automotive-grade paint and a slight anodized effect, accentuating the cyan highlights and strikingly contrasting the wool’s softness. The result is a monolithic presence that feels grounded, refined, and composed.

NOUS WHITE
Rooted in the Greek concept of perception and sense, Nous White combines delicate, desaturated lavender—often referred to as “shy lavender”—with hints of metallic blue for depth. A fine mesh trim inspired by sportswear provides a sleek, modern finish.
The structure features a soft-touch texture with a light matte finish, adding a tactile and approachable quality. The fine mesh, paired with subtle desaturation in colour, diffuses light gently, giving the piece an ethereal, almost weightless quality that invites touch.

GREEN EPISTEME
Based on the Greek principle of knowledge, Green Episteme complements Blue Episteme. Its deep ash-green hue is expressed through a dense, felted wool trim with rich tactile appeal, set against a muted ash-green metal finish that gives the piece a massive presence.
His distinctive wool texture enhances the object’s robustness and lends it a premium, high-end monolithic feel.

SAND PHRONESISS
Guided by the Greek theory of wisdom, Sand Phronesis explores the vibrancy of desaturated warm beige through the interplay of two-tones knit, accented with a metallic white-gold shade.
The use of technical knitting, featuring a micro three-dimensional pattern combined with reflective metal paint, creates a futuristic aesthetic, while the calm and balanced beige reassures the senses.

Brown Phronesis
Built upon the Greek idea of wisdom, Brown phronesis serves as the darker counterpart to Sand phronesis. It delves into an ultra-rich brown tone enhanced by a subtle warm purple undertone, creating a deeply attractive and comforting feeling.
This warm and mellow effect is further amplified by the knit’s pronounced visual quality, crafted from recycling polyester fibers paired with an ultra smooth deep brown paint finish.

Thumos Terra
Coming from the Greek concept of passion, Thumos Terra highlight a warm and terracotta color, directly inspired by the strong connection to the earth and human.
The primitive hue is contrasted with a technical knit that adds depth and a two tone effect, paired with an orangey satin metal that evokes iron oxidation in a contemporary way.

PSUKHE PIGMENTS
Inspired by the Greek vision of passion, Thumos Blue glows with a depth so intense it ensnares the eye, its hue unveiled in an ultra‑smooth paint brushed with subtle metallic whispers.
Paired with piece‑dyed wool felt, the color pulses with a vivid, almost magnetic life, its ultra‑matte texture lending it an overwhelming allure.
Combined, the interplay of matte material and saturated color generate a tension between inert balance and active force.

Red Epithumia
Arising from the Greek perception of lust, Red Epithumia exalt an impactfull and sharp red hue, with pink undertone that produce an almost glowing effect.
With both ultra matte microfiber fabric and metallic satin paint finish, this hue delivers an attractive warmish solid effect, distinctly seductive.

Acid Epithumia
Drawing on the Greek vision of lust, Acid Epithumia showcases a bold, incisive acid green tone that emits a radiant intensity.
Express by a textured and stretchable monotone wool weaving, distinct from the dark blue painted shell, this composition achieves a dramatic interplay of tones that deliver a powerful and magnetic visual impact.

Techne Black
According to the Greek notion of craft, Techne black display a refined black hue, combining ultra textured felt with sleek luminous black paint.
It exuded a subtle, delicate elegance and precision, calling to mind the control, inherent in the philosophy of craftmanship, where every surface and finish is measured and intentional.
The result is a textured black presence that feels both rigorous and restrained, a quiet testament to thoughtful making.

BALANCED, ENGINEERED
The geometry of the chair defies gravity. While a forward tripod would normally tip over when a force is applied to one of the armrest, the weight is enhanced by the extensive use of Steel Plates in the rear legs which shifts the center of gravity down and provides stability.

DIGITAL CRAFT
The making of the Psukhe Chair echoes the one of any Concept Car. After Pencil Down, the design development goes digital, from A-Class Surface Modelisation, to Early Structural Simulation & Stress Analysis, leading to CNC Milling Process to acheive the Comfort Foam and the Soft Tool to the lamination of the CFK Carbon Fiber Shell.

PENCIL DOWN
The final drawing of 2024 (on the right) is the fruition of the original concept of 2017 (from the Psukhetele novel) combined with a meticulous refinement of the Proportions, and how to reach the perfect stance and silhouette as the theme progressed from pencil to 3d.
In 2021, Godard returned to the Old Continent to establish his eponymous design agency, and to lead Hopium’s design team in developing Europe’s first hydrogen-powered sedan. Since then, he has spearheaded high-profile projects as an independent designer, including Alstom’s new high-speed trains and Energy Observer’s new generation exploration vessel.
In 2025, Godard’s Final Project is the launch of his own furniture collection, PSUKHE. A project that reimagines the intersection of futuristic fiction and experimental design.
